After the Lombard Soprazocco di Gavardo-Puegnago del Garda stage won by Marianne Vos (JUMBO-VISMA WOMEN TEAM) and which was the thirtieth career triumph for the Dutch athlete, today Friday 9 July the Giro d’Italia Donne starts from Veneto and arrives in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: at 12.05 pm the San Vendemiano-Mortegliano stage kicks off with its 130 km traveled between the provinces of Treviso, Pordenone and Udine.
The eighth stage is one of the flattest of this edition, with a difference in height of -9 meters between start and arrival and with no particular climbs. The race ends with two laps of a circuit that crosses the municipalities of Talmassons, Bicinicco, Lestizza and, the final destination, Mortegliano. The estimated time of arrival is 3.45 pm.
Present at the starting line are 110 athletes, while the following ones will not ride today: Lara Vieceli (CERATIZIT – WNT PRO CYCLING TEAM), Sara Casasola (SERVETTO – MAKHYMO – BELTRAMI), Julie Van De Velde (JUMBO-VISMA WOMEN TEAM), Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (FDJ NOUVELLE-AQUITAINE FUTUROSCOPE), Leah Dixon, Kristen Faulkner, Lauren Stephens, Diana Carolina Peñuela Martinez, Clara Honsinger and Emily Newsom (TEAM TIBCO – SILICON VALLEY BANK).
