We applauded her yesterday on the ramps of Canelli, today Annemiek Van Vleuten (Movistar Team) struck again, dominating the seventh stage, her third victory in this edition. The final climb was decisive for the pink jersey, where she pulled ahead of Juliette Labous (Team DSM) and Gaia Realini (Lidl Trek).
The seventh stage of the tour starts in Albenga and it will lead the athletes for 110.4 km to Alassio. This is not an easy segment, perhaps the last one where it is possible to really make a difference.
There are 102 kilometres scheduled for the Bagno a Ripoli - Marradi stage, a segment crossing the entire Florentine province until reaching an evocative arrival point in one of the municipalities that were affected by the recent flood.
Due to the storm with hail, flashes and impassable roads (water, mud and stones), the 1st stage of Giro Donne has Benn initially interrupted and later cancelled. The decision was take jointly bu the Direction of the organization, the Commisaries’ Panel, the CPA and the rappresentative of the teams (TEAM JAYCO ALULA).

The athletes at the start are 167 in total, 24 teams including 15 belonging to the UCI Women's World Tour category. Among the names at the starting line, those who certainly stand out are the world champion Annemiek Van Vleuten (Movistar team)
This edition of Women’s Giro Donne will be full of prestigious commercial and institutional collaborations. For the third consecutive year, the race is organized by Starlight ASD, in partnership with Federciclsmo (FCI) and UCI.

Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl Trek) is ready to face her twelfth Giro d'Italia and her fourth bearing the tricolour insignia. The Lidl Trek team’s athlete was the protagonist of a dream week in Comano Terme winning the seventh Italian time trial title and the fourth road race title.
