The 2022 edition of Giro Donne kicks off at 12.50 pm on Thursday 30th June with the “Cagliari-Cagliari” stage, an individual time trial revolving around a 4.75-km long urban circuit. The 144 athletes will start one by one with a one-minute interval between each other, while the last 10 athletes will have a two-minute interval between each other.
The route unfolds across the sea and the Montelagius-Saline Regional Natural Park, starting from Lungo Saline Road and finishing in Lungo Mare Poetto Road. The track is covered by the athletes in 6 minutes on average and the end of today’s race is scheduled at 3.30 pm.
The first stage is qualifying for the General Individual Classification and the following jerseys will be assigned:
PINK JERSEY / UNHCR: first place
CYCLAMEN JERSEY / FASTWEB: second place
GREEN JERSEY / DISCOVERY+: third place
WHITE JERSEY / EUROSPORT: best-ranking U23 contestant
BLUE JERSEY / IL MESSAGGERO: best-ranking Italian contestant
