Collaborations and partnerships also from a sustainable perspective for the 32nd edition of the great international women’s cycling event that is renewed in its name and organization by PMG Sport/Starlight

For the 32 edition of the Giro d’Italia Donne, to be held from 2 to 11 July 2021, 28 sponsors and partners will take to the track alongside the 144 athletes of the best 24 teams in the world, ensuring an event with high organizational, logistical and sports standards.

The Giro, organized for the first time by PMG Sport/Starlight, a leading company in the sports industry in terms of production, distribution and promotion of original content in live streaming, this year also renews its brand and objectives, such as raising awareness on the matters of environment and sustainability and enhancement of the female figure in sport.

Each of the 5 jerseys of the Giro d’Italia Donne, to be assigned during the 10 stages that compose the over 1,000 km-long itinerary through Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, has been “adopted” by a sponsor: the Maglia Rosa (Pink jersey, to the best of the Individual Time General Classification) by ASG – Athletic Sports Group, an international sports entertainment agency, also involved in the worldwide distribution of the event through broadcasters and publishers; the Maglia Ciclamino (Cyclamen jersey, to the best of the Individual General Points Classification) by Selle SMP, an Italian company that has revolutionized the concept of bicycle saddles, a symbol of quality, ergonomics and innovation; the Maglia Verde (Green jersey, to the best of the GPM – Mountains classification) by Effebiquattro Milano, the main Italian manufacturer of interior doors and Made in Italy protagonist in the design of interior solutions; the Maglia Bianca (White jersey, for the best younger of the Individual Time General Classification) by Fedegroup, a leading company in the catering services industry for hotels with over 40 restaurants in hotels in Italy and which will also offer sustainable catering by its Madame Delice brand during the 10 stages of the Giro; the Maglia Azzurra (Blue jersey, to the best Italian of the Individual Time General Classification) by GSG, which will also provide customized technical uniforms to the athletes.

Among the green sponsorships, San Bernardo for the Giro presents the new “Eli” bottle, the sustainable Goccia, 100% recycled, helical-shaped with the drops arranged in the golden ratio and produced in the Garessio factory that runs on wind energy; U-Earth has created the first Pure Air Zone in the world of cycling: by inserting bioreactors in the changing rooms, in the massage tents and at the arrival area, the athletes will be ensured the opportunity to breathe clean air, for the benefit of well-being and comfort; ENERGIAPURA will supply CE Certified AIR PURE masks – Class 1 Medical Device, a device with high filtration both in and out (99.2%), that is breathable and sustainable made with recycled and recyclable fabric, washable and therefore reusable; Grifal will offer lunch boxes and baskets made of cArtù®, the new corrugated cardboard that saves up to 80% of CO2 emissions.

In terms of health and physical well-being, Virgin Active will support the Giro d’Italia Donne by offering digital subscriptions to Revolution with the best live trainers, while HPM will provide athletes with an evaluation and measurement service of the parameters that determine their performance. Safety during the race will be taken care of by Air Medical Services, which will provide a state-of-the-art ambulance equipped with a bio-containment stretcher.

Services and logistics of the Giro will be sponsored by: Astoria Wines that will take care of the toasts at the end of each stage with special bottles of Prosecco DOC Rosé with customized graphics; Fratelli Beretta that will supply safe and quality cured meats according to its tradition and BE-KIND energy bars; Tescoma that will guarantee kitchen utensils with a certificate of excellence; Würth that will also dress the Giro production team with its Würth Modyf workwear line; Gruppo Italtelo that will be in charge of all the setting up; Ferrari Promotion that will install two led chrono stages with slide and ledwall backdrop.

The enhancement of women in sports will be endorsed by Freeda that will take care of special editorials with a focus on women, and Assi Manager – Italian Association of Sport Business Managers that is committed to gender equality and brings together female and male sports professionals with the aim to promote the skills and a healthy culture of sports management.

Partners of the event are Isolmant, Premac, Trofei Ronchi, Bossini, Mak, Normalien.
